Understanding Early Indigenous Art Work

Our third classes explored early indigenous art again this week,  drawing plants and animals from the John Colet environment and using traditonal mark making techniques to create their own works and stories.

Then they gathered natural found objects like twigs and straw and used them to make mark making tools, which was quite tricky!

The students recognized that aboriginal people didn't consider that they owned the land, the land owned them, and that different tribes drew their own country in their own way.
