Drawing Shakespeare and decorating a cake in his honour
A BIG birthday cake is being created in honour of his 450th Birthday
This week in art lessons, each student is decorating a small section on nine large slab cakes, which wiill be fitted together to form a HUGE cake portrait of Shakespeare.
It's tricky! Especially getting the scale right on the rectangular cakes. And we won't really know how it will look until all the cakes are put together on Monday morning at recess.
The art lessons are also an opportunity to practise portrait drawing, and the pictures below show how well the students' skills develop by the time they reach Year 5.
