6th class design mural at John Colet School

Stepping through a keyhole - a gift from 6th class 2014

"Step through the keyhole into the world of Shakespeare" is a major art project by 6th class students 2014, in celebration of Shakespeare's 450th birthday.

The subject matter and finished product was conceived by and designed by the students.  Mural artist Roger Robinson painted the panels.  The artwork depicts characters from A Midsummer Night's Dream.

In this process the children learnt about site specific installations, they considered the vision of the school's architect and carefully viewed the site.  With this in mind they came up with different concepts and 'stepping through a keyhole into the world of Shakespeare' evolved. All the children designed a panel and Roger Robinson chose the panels to be painted.

6th class parents have gifted the panels to the school in gratitude to the school and to Mrs Dunn.
